Services

West Wyalong / Wyalong

West Wyalong / Wyalong are the largest towns with the most services on offer hence why all the rides start and end at this central hub. However, some of the loops are a challenging distance to cycle in one day and many of you will want to break the chosen route into smaller segments and stay somewhere overnight. This is especially true of Route 1 which is why Rankins Springs of Carrathool Shire is included as an additional stopover point to refuel and rest.

There is a lot of choice for accommodation in town with many Motels, Hotels, Caravan Parks, and boutique accommodation available to choose from. Free camping is available at Cooinda Reserve with a range of facilities on offer including toilets, potable water, picnic tables, BBQs and a dump point.

Barmedman

Barmedman offers camping by donation located next to the Mineral Pool and has excellent facilities including hot showers, BBQ’S, bins and toilets. And of course, if you are riding during swimming season what better way is there to end a day on the bike than with a dip in the Mineral Pool. If you require a powered campsite for your caravan, motorhome, or tent, then you can be accommodated at the Community Recreation Grounds for $10 per night. Contact Steve & Linda at the Post Office to book. There is also a dump point on site. Unfortunately, the two Hotels in Barmedman have closed and there is not a lot available food wise especially after work hours. Accommodation is available at Ada House which can accommodate a large group. Relax in front of the wood fire during the colder months and debrief after a hard day of gravel grinding. During the day food can be purchased from the Post Office/General Store, the Barmedman Arts, Craft & Coffee Shop, Metro Service Station. Cold beer is on tap at the Bowling Club.

Be sure to send me a message when you’re in town so I can join you in a ride or two. We can also accommodate small groups in our beautiful two large queen and one single bedrooms in the historic old Catholic Primary School, Kortmar Manor. Our accommodation is by offer only and is dependent on how busy we are with the Shibees.

Ungarie

Ungarie offers powered camping by donation at the Showgrounds and facilities include toilets, showers, potable water, tables, bins, and a dump point, what more could you want? Did I mention it’s also dog friendly for those of you towing a trailer with your pooch along for the ride, good onya, kudos. There is also the Central Hotel and Majestic Cafe to keep your body fueled and thirst slaked.

Tallimba

Tallimba has the Tallimba Inn Hotel that offers accommodation and five powered caravan sites, clean amenities including toilets, a laundry, and showers for guests. The Memorial Park is a great place to rest and get water.

Weethalle

Weethalle requires a stop at the Road Kill Grillz for a coffee, a feed and a photo of their mural. Further down the street are Fat Bob and the Blonde a curio shop and Fat Bob (Harley Davidson) lives in the shop. The Blonde is Heather, the owner who has interesting stories to tell about her travels on Fat Bob throughout Australia. The Whistle Stop Café is located in the old Railway Station first opened in 1923. Camping is available at the Weethalle Showground for $10 per night.

Mirrool

Mirrool has the Mirrool Hotel and free camping at Sunshine Park too.

Naradhan

Naradhan has capacity for you to fill up your water bottles at the Community Hall or at the Public School. You may be welcomed to camp somewhere after making your own inquiries. Possibly the good folk that inhabit this small place are going to wonder what the hell is going on when all you bikers come peddling through.
